[PODCAST] A Gene Mutation Breakthrough Sets Australia’s Worst Female Serial
Killer Free

A podcast adaptation of the Kathleen Folbigg case covered in a news feature by Nature. The 10-minute podcast was inspired by the Stephanie Soo’s Rotten Mango podcast. Target core audience was the public interested in true crime with a secondary audience interested in science as it leans heavier into the true crime remit.

This podcast was part of the ‘Practical Science Broadcasting’ module.

Shout out to Amanda Cheng, a friend from the  scicomm cohort for joining me in this podcast!

“What a perfect medium for this story – really engaging, gripping and informative. Well done. Nice and clearly explained – the story was laid out well, the science was clear and felt well researched. … I liked your use of music and SFX to both set mood and help add explanatory information (e.g., the heartbeats). … This was thoughtfully presented, with the tension balanced nicely with caveats and clarifications.”
